Alan will present a reversible and inexpensive japan paper repair method for detached or semi-detached boards of leather bound books.
- You are welcome to bring a leather-bound book for evaluation and possible repair (under 10 inch tall).
- The hinge repair will work for a totally detached board, or for boards split at the leather of the hinge but still hanging by the endsheet or inside hinge.
Red rot repair.
- Red rot is the powdery deteriorated condition of some leather books; sometimes extensive, or sometimes in cracked, broken, or rubbed areas.

Archival storage containers you can make yourself. Mary will walk you through creating archival flap folders and envelopes. Materials and tools will be provided.
