RichHistory Weekend 2022

RichHistory Alliance will celebrate Richland County history again this year on Saturday and Sunday, May 7th and 8th, with a variety of activities at member historical sites.

Events include; history from a Revolutionary War reenactor’s perspective at the northern end of the county in Plymouth, a history walk at the site of the old Richland County Infirmary, and a wide variety of outdoor historical activities at Pleasant Hill Lake down near Perrysville. The Mansfield Memorial Museum participates with a Westinghouse theme. Oak Hill Cottage hosts Brett Dunbar and a pop-up streetcar museum. Some events require registration and you can find the schedule and sign-ups here:

More events are being added as sites submit them. The newest member of the Alliance is the Shelby Bicycle Museum, a group that is just getting it’s start.

The RichHistory Alliance was started in 2016 as a collaboration of history-related sites and organizations in Richland County. They publish a brochure, website, and Passport to History booklet for elementary school children, in addition to sponsoring the annual RichHistory Weekend and overseeing the Johnny Appleseed Byway organization. The website at richhistory.org includes a wealth of resource material for schools and anyone interested in Richland County history.
