Douglas Dickson up in the village of Plymouth has seen his hard work of the last year begin to pay off, as they move one step closer to becoming s National Register Historic District. On March 16 Doug organized a small ceremony in the mayor’s office to sign the contract for the preservation consultant to begin work on the nomination application.
The Richland County Historical Society has been encouraging this effort and the RichHistory Alliance kicked in $3100 toward it through a grant out of their Rover Pipeline funds. The Plymouth Area Historical Society spearheads the effort.
The nomination will go before the Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board in September, and if all goes well, the National Park Service will approve it by the end of 2018.
